A technology leader's job description varies greatly depending on the site, the responsibilities of the particular
position, and the school community. We are now seeing positions created to accomplish the daunting task of maintaining
and supporting all the technology at a site or district along with the educational technology components of curricular
integration. Unfortunately, often times this position is just too much for one mortal to accomplish without excellent
tools, strategies and resources at their fingertips. Although every situation is unique there are many mistakes and
successes that technology leaders can share with each other to help smooth the path to true technology integration
and implementation. In this fast paced, entertaining and participatory forum, we will provide guidelines in developing
a support team with access to the resources needed to effectively accomplish the technology leader’s tasks. This
forum will focus on strategies and approaches for keeping afloat the technology leader at a school site, the district
or county. We will look at approaches to help the site, district and county technology leader accomplish the overwhelming
task of organizing, delegating, and facilitating effective technology implementation. We will close by identifying some
of the many resources available to technology leaders. Attendees are invited to stay for lunch immediately following
the workshop.

What does the Department of Education’s School 2.0 initiative really entail, and how do we create schools that
can realize that vision? Can we really build a pedagogical framework that allows all stakeholders to use technology
to change the way we think about schools and create a transformative experience for all involved? Examine the issues
of technology infrastructure, staff development, curriculum design in a One-to-One environment, home and school interaction,
and the pedagogical framework necessary to make this vision a reality.
